(Flora, IL) What a great night of racing we had. Door to door action all night long in all classes. The track was fast as always, and the drivers were prepared to do battle. Michael Fox was hard pressed to hold the lead in our modified feature. Jason Maxey tried several times to pull off a pass, but Fox was way too fast.
When the daring hornets took the track for their feature, you could just feel the excitement. Earlier in the evening we had “Smokin” Joe Ilberry in the 189 car, catch fire. He was able to climb out and wave to the crowd. Then in the next heat we had the #93 of Chris Drumeller flip several times, before coming to a rest atop of Starla Bailey’s #21. Once again the track safety crew were there in a hurry to attend to one of our drivers.
We look forward to doing this again next sat 7/5. We will be hosting our INDEPENDENCE DAY SPECIAL. We will have the Fastrak Midwest Touring series on hand for their $1,200 to win event. Also next week we will be hosting a $500 to win hornet special. As always Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, children 12 and under are FREE!
