Race Report & Results: August 2nd, 2008

What a great night of racing once again on the ever so racey 1/3 mile Clay County Speedway. The Modifieds showed up to do battle, and put on one heck of a show. We started 14 cars but 7 retired before the 20 laps were finished. Chris Wilson went out on lap 1 courtesy of the turn 4 wall. Lap 2 had an incident when the gas man Jay Jones spun his car in turn 1, but kept it going. We had a 3 car incident following on lap 3, this wreck took out the cars of Will Krup and Brent Warner. The "X" factor Jesse Snyder retired his Hotrod on lap 4 due to engine problems. We then ran several fast laps, until lap 13 when The Gas Man Jay Jones had issues in the #55 car, he retired for the night. Last caution of the night was brought out by the #66 of Michael Fox hitting a tire in turn 2, but also retires the 808 of Kelby Simmons with an unknown problem. Brian Shaw started on the pole and led all 20 laps.

Phil Bible had problems in the #51 car before we got to the green flag. Coming on lap 2 The cars of Dunlap and Snelling decided to rub a bit too hard and spun in turn 1. This bringing out the first caution of the event. Dunlap retired on lap 3 due to damage he recieved on lap 2 with the 14 car. We went green til Timmy Snelling took his car to the infield on lap 16 due to a heating problem. We finished without further incident.
